The Intrinsically Safe, PLB offshore, MOB Alerting Units can be discreetly worn around the neck or in a lifejacket to provide 24/7 protection for all crew on deck. Should a crew member fall over board, their Alerting Unit will (after 15 secs. immersion) automatically transmit an ‘SOS’ radio distress homing signal on 121.5 MHz (the Internationally recognised SAR homing frequency) . The homing signal can be picked up & tracked by a Base Unit on the boat (SARfinder® 1003) or if extra help is needed it can be tracked by local SAR authorities.
